(MENAFN– Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. In Turkmenistan, the
plan for the development of investments in the agro-industrial
complex from January through May 2023 was fulfilled by 283.3
percent, trend reports.
This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of
Ministers of Turkmenistan Annageldi Yazmyradow at a government
meeting held on June 10, 2023.
According to him, during the reporting period, the Ministry of
Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan increased
production by 105 percent, the State Committee of Water Management
– by 104.1 percent, and the Turkmen Atlary State Association – by
101.6 percent.
Furthermore, the Deputy Chairman noted that production in the
agro-industrial complex of Turkmenistan in the first five months of
this year increased by 104.9 percent compared to the same period
last year
Agriculture holds a significant position in the economy of
Turkmenistan, being one of its most vital sectors. The primary
agricultural crops cultivated in Turkmenistan encompass wheat,
cotton, rice, sugar beet, forage, vegetables, melons, fruits, and
berries.
