Dow rallies nearly 250 points on gains in Microsoft, UnitedHealth stocks

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up Thursday morning with shares of Microsoft and UnitedHealth seeing positive gains for the price-weighted average. The Dow is trading 242 points, or 0.7%, higher, as shares of Microsoft and UnitedHealth have contributed to the index’s intraday rally. Microsoft’s shares are up $8.23, or 2.4%, while those of UnitedHealth have climbed $10.97, or 2.4%, combining for an approximately 127-point boost for the Dow. Walgreens Boots Chevron and Verizon are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components equates to a 6.59-point swing.
