The National Hurricane Center increased the chance for development for Invest 91-L June 1, the official start of hurricane season.
The NHC gave the system a 50% chance of formation over the next few days. Invest 91-L will move south through the end of the week. The system is forecast to stay well off the Florida coast but is still expecting to bring rain to the Florida peninsula regardless of formation.
No major impacts will be felt for Norhtwest Florida. Clouds will increase for Thursday, and we will have a slight increase in afternoon rain chances because of the increase in moisture, but skies will clear out by Friday as the system moves south and away from the Northen Gulf Coast.
Rip current risk will also be high for Thursday and possibly Friday.
