S&P 500 Marks 4th Day of Gains. Dow Soars 460 Points.

The S&P 500 shook off some early jitters in the wake of Nvidia’s latest earnings report to rise for its fourth day in a row.

The market benchmark gained 0.5% on Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 462 points, or 1.1%. The Nasdaq Composite was up slightly.

Nvidia set the tone early in the morning by opening up with the market before retreating. All the major indexes followed, though they eventually picked up steam and finished with gains. Though Nvidia’s report beat expectations, the stock’s stellar run this year and attention from traders made for a volatile session.
