The Eagles are always looking to add talent to the roster, and on Monday afternoon, Howie Roseman made a move to strengthen the rushing attack after acquiring Tank Bigsby. Philadelphia traded a 2026 fifth-round and sixth-round pick to Jacksonville for the former Auburn star.

In the season opener, Bigsby logged five carries for 12 yards and added a 20-yard kickoff return during the Jaguars‘ 26-10 win over the Panthers on Sunday.

Bigsby had the second most carries on the Jaguars, but he was clearly behind Travis Etienne, who had 40 snaps on Sunday. Etienne had the hot hand Sunday, logging 16 carries for 143 yards (8.9 avg) compared to Bisgby’s 2.4 yards per carry.

With reaction to the deal trickling in, we’re looking at an instant analysis of Howie Roseman again being proactive.

Bigsby’s new role

In Philadelphia, Bigsby will likely find a role on special teams as a returner and in the backfield, with Will Shipley expected to miss time with a rib injury. The Eagles also have AJ Dillon at the running back position.

Bigsby accomplished a lot in the SEC

Bigsby led Auburn in rushing again in 2022, logging 179 carries for 970 yards (5.4 avg) and 10 TDs in 11 starts. An upright runner with a strong, angular frame, Bigsby had some fumbling concerns in college and offers no value on third down.
