Chocolate lovers take note – the soaring prices of your favourite treat may be coming to an end as cocoa futures start to ease after prices rocketed to record levels last year.
The chocolate-making ingredient fell below $US7400 a tonne this week amid softer demand for the commodity as manufacturers grapple with higher costs and tighter margins, according to Bloomberg. And while the price of cocoa remains far higher than the $US2350 per tonne price in mid-2022, it’s well down from its December peak of $US12,0000 per tonne.
