All 11 S&P 500 sectors were trading in the green on Friday as stock-market breadth bounced back following a lengthy stretch of deterioration.
But Friday’s gains weren’t enough to erase losses from earlier in the week. Every sector was still on track to finish lower over that timeframe.
Recent underperformers, including real-estate, health-care and financials, were in the lead on Friday. Information technology stocks were also seeing solid gains as semiconductor stocks like Nvidia Corp. climbed.
If they all finish higher, Friday would be the first day since election day that all 11 S&P 500 sectors climbed in unison, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
Here’s how sectors were performing:
Real estate: up 2.6%.
