The S&P 500 snapped its three-day losing streak after the latest wave of earnings reports—headlined by Tesla—gave the market a jolt.

The market benchmark rose 0.2%, while the Nasdaq Composite was up 0.8%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, which lacks Tesla and was weighed down by mixed results from some of its 30 members, dropped 140 points, or 0.3%. The Dow has fallen for four days in a row.

Results from Tesla, United Parcel Service, and several others helped lift the S&P. Treasury yields also pulled back, providing some breathing room after higher rates weighed on the market earlier this week.
