After a run-up in U.S. stocks, the major indexes are hitting pause on Tuesday.
“It’s a little bit of a breather,” said Dave Grecsek, managing director in investment strategy and research at Aspiriant. “The markets have become a little bit extended.”
The S&P 500 is coming off five consecutive weeks of gains, the longest weekly winning streak since 2021. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite just rose for eight straight weeks, its longest stretch since 2019.
