Dow Opens Up Ahead of PCE Inflation Data. S&P 500 Falling after Record High.

Stocks were mixed to start the day on Wednesday, but Treasury bonds were rallying ahead with the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation gauge on tap.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 48 points, or 0.1%. The S&P 500 was down 0.2%. The Nasdaq Composite was down 0.3%. The Dow and S&P both marked record closes on Tuesday. The S&P is riding a seven day winning streak.

Traders were once again buying Treasury bonds, sending yields lower. The yield on the 2-year Treasury note was down to 4.215%. The 10-year yield was down to 4.258%.
