DOW UPDATE
Dragged down by negative returns for shares of Home Depot and Verizon, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is falling Tuesday morning. Shares of Home Depot and Verizon have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow was most recently trading 57 points lower (-0.2%). Home Depot’s shares are down $6.51, or 2.0%, while those of Verizon have fallen $0.76 (1.8%), combining for an approximately 48-point drag on the Dow. Nike Caterpillar and McDonald’s are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow results in a 6.59-point swing.
