Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.33%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.

Shares of Tata Consultancy(up 0.36 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, HCL Technologies(down 1.52 per cent), Wipro(down 1.03 per cent), Infosys(down 0.47 per cent), Persistent Systems(down 0.38 per cent) and L&T Technology(down 0.38 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty IT index closed 0.33 per cent down at 30310.7.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 43.1 points at 17721.5, while the BSE Sensex stood down 220.86 points at 60286.04.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 31 closed in the red.

Shares of , , , and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of , GRP Ltd, , and Action Const. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while , Ltd., Vikas Proppant & Gr, and . hit their fresh 52-week lows.
