Dow's nearly 275-point fall led by losses in shares of Chevron, Salesforce Inc.

Shares of Chevron and Salesforce Inc. are posting losses Thursday afternoon, dragging the Dow Jones Industrial Average into negative territory. The Dow DJIA, -1.05% was most recently trading 271 points, or 0.8%, lower, as shares of Chevron CVX, -4.94% and Salesforce Inc. CRM, -4.85% have contributed to the index’s intraday decline. Chevron’s shares are off $8.10, or 4.7%, while those of Salesforce Inc. have fallen $8.38, or 4.5%, combining for an approximately 109-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Goldman Sachs GS, -2.04%, Walt Disney DIS, -2.13%, and Microsoft MSFT, -1.81%. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components equates to a 6.59-point swing.
